What's the best conversation you've ever had with a stranger—on a bus, in an elevator, at a cafe, etc.?

This morning I was buying myself some cup ramen and I was waiting in line at the grocery store and a nice old man was in front of me. He started it so I blame him.
"Good morning."
"Good morning, how are you?"
"I'm doing wonderfully, thank you. How are you?" being truthful and dead tired without morning coffee, I stare at my noodles.
"I really, really miss my girlfriend. My parents don't know I'm gay."
"... I hope that works out for you."
I was so happy to see him smile at me... I don't even know who he was...
